Business Finance
Set up Business Finance
Open Workspace Admin → Business Finance. Both administrators and owners can review and operate the cashbook. Only the owner can change Workspace finance & GST settings and create finance accounts; administrators can create categories and parties for day-to-day entries.
Owner setup
- Enter the legal business name. If the business is GST registered, enter the applicable GSTIN and state code.
- Review the financial-year start month, default GST and TDS estimate rates, and optional low-cash alert threshold with the business’s accountant.
- Create cash, bank, wallet, credit-card, or loan accounts with the appropriate opening balances.
- Ask the administrator to add the categories and parties needed for ordinary entries. Parties can represent customers, vendors, lenders, or borrowers.
These settings support operational estimates and historical transaction snapshots. They do not register the business for tax, file returns, create statutory invoices, or replace professional accounting review. Unregistered businesses can still use the cashbook without enabling GST registration.
If an administrator sees the finance settings but cannot edit them, this is the intended owner permission. Employees have no Business Finance access.
